FAQ

The brand has been doing this since 1889. That's well over a century. Most furniture companies don't last that long. But Bernhardt did, and here's why—they actually care about how things are built. Hand-applied finishes and solid construction. They're not cutting corners to chase trends. Most luxury brands are doing that, Bernhardt doesn't. Their collections cover a lot of ground too, Classic, & Modern. In-between, whatever your decor aesthetic is, they’ve probably got something that will fit. That’s rare now. Most brands pick a lane. Bernhardt doesn’t.

It depends on what you're looking at. Some pieces are all solid hardwood and others mix solid frames with veneers on top surfaces. Veneers prevent warping, which is a huge issue. Solid wood can warp over time. It happens. They also open up design options. You can get grain patterns that’d be impossible with solid wood. So it's not inferior, it's different. The point is Bernhardt uses quality materials either way. No cheap particle board, no composites. When you look at the product specs, they tell you what you're getting. Solid wood or veneers or both. You can decide what works for you.

Dust it. That's step one. Use something soft like microfiber. Do that regularly and you're halfway there. If you need to actually clean something beyond dust, then use a damp cloth, barely wet, then dry it right away. Don't leave water sitting, don't use harsh cleaners or ammonia stuff. Don't scrub hard. All that damages the finish. When spills happen, blot them up right away instead of wiping them around. Keep pieces out of the heat of any kind - sun, heaters, or vents. Sun fades things. Heat cracks wood.

Since Bernhardt only have one warranty and it does not change to anyone who sells their pieces. You can check the warranty of Bernhardt if you wanted to get more details. So, we wanted to make sure that the "what's covered depends on the collection and where you buy it" will be improved

Sometimes. Depends on what you’re actually buying. A few collections let you pick your wood tone or fabric. Others are fixed with no options for customization. The easiest thing you can do is call or email an authorized dealer and ask them straight up what can be customized in the line you want. They know this stuff. They'll tell you if what you're thinking about is possible or if you will have to go with what's available. Don't waste time guessing. Just ask them.

Their traditional lines have detailed carvings, deeper finishes, and classic shapes—everything you'd expect from that aesthetic. The modern collections go in a completely different direction with clean lines, minimal decoration, and updated finishes. They also make transitional pieces that borrow from both styles. Not too old, not too new. You decide what fits your place. That’s why Bernhardt sticks. It works everywhere.

Stick with authorized retailers. Bernhardt's site has a dealer locator—use it. Authorized retailers like Grayson Living sell authentic products. But beware, fakes are out there and they're sometimes hard to spot. One warning sign that you can look for is prices that are way lower than everywhere else. That's a dead giveaway. Authorized dealers have real warranties and actual customer service backing their products. Knockoffs don't. So verify before you spend money.
